Better late than never...

Sorry it has been so long since the last post. Things have been REALLY crazy around here! As posted before, Feb. 22nd was our assignment night. Rich got his first choice of U-28 down at Hurlburt Field, FL. Yes, that means we are moving to the beach! Unlike the rest of his classmates though, we only have about a month to move! Last week we drove for 14 hours down to FL to do some house hunting. We were so fortunate to be able to stay with friends in Pensacola. After 5 stressful days, we were able to leave as proud, first-time home owners of a brand new house only 7 minutes from the beach!

Our House is so awesome. It is a brand new 4 bedroom patio home in a new subdivision in Gulf Breeze. We are only 20 min. to Pensacola, 20 min. to base, and only 40 min. Destin. We finally have a yard for the pups to play in and a great neighborhood to go for walks in. I will post a link soon with pictures.

The end is near...

Assignment night is in three weeks!!!! Over the past year, there has been no anxiety until now. It is crazy to think that our entire future will be determined in a few short weeks. Though Rich will submit a "dream sheet" we truly have no idea what plane he will be flying or where we will be stationed. I have had no expectations or nerves until now. I will admit my hopes have been getting a little too high. We have been looking at houses all the way from Alaska to Florida. Until the big day, I will be keeping myself busy with the puppies and planning graduation. I will keep you posted as the big day approaches!

                                                                              U-28A
                                                 C-17

Go Richie!

During pilot training, there are 3 phases to complete. Rich is nearing the end of the third phase.  Because he is training on the T-1 right now, there are only 2-3 check rides (like college midterms). However, the second check ride, the Nav. check, is the check rides of check rides, making up majority of their grade. Rich just had his nav. ride last Thursday and passed!!! He truly has done an incredible job this past year and I am so proud of him. He will hopefully be done with pilot training completely in the next couple of weeks!!! Our big day is Feb. 22nd where we find out what plane Rich will be flying and where we will be stationed. THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!....not like I am counting or anything....Anyway, I will post some pictures of our possible plane options!!!

The dust has settled...

Sorry for this being so late! The past month or so has been crazy!  Because the last couple months were so crazy (dog getting shot, creepy neighbor, dog surgeries, moving, new car, hosting Thanksgiving, etc.) we decided to hang around Enid for Christmas. My family came out over the holiday so it was pretty awesome! The AFA made it into a bowl game so over New Years we drove down to Dallas/Ft. Worth (about 4 hours away) for the game and spent our time down there with our great friends, Brooke and Brian George (Brooke's family lives down there). Overall, our holiday break was great!
